Miscellaneous: Cold Black Tea


This is my favorite summer drink.  The baking soda helps to combat cloudiness.  Feel free to sweeten to your taste.  This is meant to be drunk cold, from the refrigerator.  If you prefer it over ice, brew the concentrate with more leaves.

4 Tbs. (25 gm) loose black tea
2 c. boiled water, plus 48 oz. room temperature water
pinch baking soda

Steep tea in boiled water for 15 minutes.  Strain into a 64 oz. container.  Add baking soda and remaining water.  Refrigerate until chilled.
